Advisors guide your academic success and help you reach your goals.
Students in our department receive advising through the Business Advisement Center.
To be assigned an advisor, contact the Business Advisement Center located in Glass Hall 276. If you have forgotten who is assigned as your advisor, log in to My Missouri State and click on the academics tab. Once you have been assigned an advisor within the information technology and cybersecurity department, you should contact your advisor directly to schedule appointments for advising. If you have completed fewer than 60 hours, you are required to speak with and receive your advisor's release to register for classes.
If you are pursuing a graduate program, please contact a graduate advisor for appropriate advising assistance. You must receive advisor release prior to registering for each semester of graduate study. Graduate students are also required to submit an advisor-approved program of study to the Graduate College before 14 hours have been completed.
As a transfer student in the department of information technology and cybersecurity, you are invited to schedule an appointment with the Business Advisement Center to determine what requirements you have left to complete. In some cases, you may be pre-approved to take an online course at Missouri State while concurrently enrolled at your current school. This allows you to preemptively begin fulfilling the program requirements.
We work closely with each transfer student to develop a personalized degree plan to complete your degree in a timely fashion. With most students who have completed an Associate of Arts degree, our degrees may be completed in two years taking 15 hours per semester.
